Episode 51: Cecelia Townes Fearless, BoSSY, Tenacious GladiatHer
I’m feeling particularly aware of the passing of time this year so, Happy New Year!
This is the first episode of 2019. To start the year off right, this week the amazing Cecelia Townes joins me. Cecelia, the Sporty Esquire, is a former tennis player at Howard University and a graduate of UCLA School of Law. Her legal practice focuses on employment and labor law. She founded GladiatHers as a blog in 2012 to empower women who want to achieve their maximum potential. She is dedicated to helping women discover and walk in their purpose, improving the image of women in sports, and on preparing athletes for life after sports. Cecelia serves on the Board of Directors of the national non-profit Play Like a Girl! and is a contributing writer for ESPNW.
Cecelia and her team are currently in the final weeks of preparation for a GladiatHers summit in Atlanta on January 30th, 2019.
In the episode she talks about what to expect at the Summit and about the other ways she offers career guidance and insight to female college athletes, young professionals, and anyone who wants to tune in.
There’s lot’s of other goodies in the conversation including about scarcity, meditating, negotiating, and my favorite -- a bit about how meal planning is rubbish.
Before we get started, just a reminder hear her sports has some new schwag available on the website shop.
Check it out, support the podcast. We need you to keep listening and spread the word.
Yay! For women power!
